The Vermont Golden Dome Book Award is Vermont’s children’s-choice middle-grade book award created  to honor excellence in children's literature. Vermont students in grades 4-8 read the 25 nominated books and vote for their favorite.

The Vermont Golden Dome Book Award conference session takes place Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 12:00-2:00pm. Library staff, teachers, and others who love great middle-grade literature will take away ideas and inspiration for discussions and programming.

12-1pm: Author Stuart Gibbs will kick off the session with a keynote presentation. Stuart Gibbs is the author of five bestselling middle grade series: Spy School, FunJungle, Charlie Thorne, Moon Base Alpha and The Last Musketeer. He also writes for TV and film. His book Charlie Thorne and the Last Equation won the 2021 Vermont Golden Dome Book Award and his book Belly Up was a nominee in 2013.

1-2pm: The Vermont Golden Dome Book Award committee members will lead an exploration into the award nomination list, highlighting innovative and fun ways to promote and engage book award participation in schools and libraries.
