Vermont Youth Book Awards Conference - Vermont Golden Dome Book Award Session Online
The Vermont Golden Dome Book Award is Vermont’s children’s-choice middle-grade book award created to honor excellence in children's literature. Vermont students in grades 4-8 read the 25 nominated books and vote for their favorite.
The Vermont Golden Dome Book Award conference session takes place Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 11:30-1:30pm
The conference is a celebration of readers, creators of children’s literature, and librarians/educators. Students are invited to watch the author presentation in libraries and classrooms across the state! If you plan to view the conference with a group of students, please indicate how many students and adults you anticipate will be in attendance. When you join the session please share in the chat how many people are in your group.
11:30am-12:30pm: Author presentation. The author will answer questions submitted by students, librarians, and educators. We invite students to watch the author presentations in libraries and classrooms across the state. Details coming soon!
12:30-1:30pm: Golden Dome Book Award committee members will lead an exploration into the award nomination list, highlighting innovative and fun ways to promote and engage book award participation in schools and libraries.
Meeting information:
- The conference will be held on Microsoft Teams. The link and call-in information will be sent to registrants and can be found below.
- The author keynote and committee presentation recordings as well as the attendance certificate will be available after the conference on the Department of Library's education and training platform, Niche Academy. You will be asked to create a free account for Niche Academy if you have not done so before, and then will have access to recorded CE from the Department of Libraries as well as a large amount of training from other providers.
