Ready to Read Workshop Online

Participants will learn the basics of the five practices of early literacy; reading, writing, talking, singing, and playing, and ways to incorporate them into storytimes and other programs for early learners. Participants will be given developmentally appropriate strategies to build reading readiness and executive function skills.

The workshop will be lead by Dr. Betsy Diamant-Cohen, the executive director of Mother Goose on the Loose, an award-winning early literacy program for children from birth to age 3 and their parents or caregivers. Her professional development workshops for library staff pair research findings with practical programming activities, presented in an interactive and playful atmosphere.

If you’re unable to attend the live session, please register to receive access to the recorded workshop and handouts. The recording will be available for 30 days.

The audience for this workshop is public and school library staff as well as trustees and volunteers.
