Homelessness and Housing Insecurity in Rural Communities: How Libraries Can Help Online

The goal of this 6-month series is to help rural libraries better serve people in their communities who are experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. Guest Dr. Julie Winkelstein will facilitate this series whcih will comprise instruction, resource sharing, discussion, and the option to create an action plan over the course of the series. Library staff are welcome to participate collaboratively with other local library staff, trustees, or community partners.

Attendance at all sessions is not a requirement of participation.

Session 2: Impact of Race, Ethnicity, and Culture on Rural Homelessness and Housing Insecurity - April 24, 2025

Session 3: Rural Partnerships - May 22, 2025

Session 4: Rural Homelessness and Housing Insecurity in Youth, Families, and LGBTQ+ Populations - June 26, 2025

Session 5: Disabilities, Mental and Physical Health and Rural Homelessness and Housing Insecurity - July 24, 2025

Session 6: What Coms Next: Action Plans, Ongoing Connection Opportunities, and Other Next Steps - August 28, 2025

Up to 12 CEUs in the Elective Category will be given. 1 hour = 1 CEU
