Storytime 101 Online

Participants will learn the basics of storytime while exploring the science and research around early literacy. Participants will be given developmentally appropriate strategies to build reading readiness and executive function skills.

The workshop will be lead by Dr. Betsy Diamant-Cohen. Dr. Betsy Diamant-Cohen is the executive director of Mother Goose on the Loose, an award-winning early literacy program for children from birth to age 3 and their parents or caregivers, based on research which shows that children learn best through routine and repetition in a nurturing environment. Her professional development workshops for library staff pair research findings with practical programming activities, presented in an interactive and playful atmosphere.

The audience for these workshops is public and school library staff as well as trustees and volunteers. If you’re unable to attend the live session, please register to receive access to the recorded workshop. The recording will be available for 30 days. Attendees are eligible for 1.5 CEUs per session.
