Getting Started with Outcome-Based Evaluation Online

Your library offers a lot of great programs, resources, and services, but how can you determine what effects these have on your users? In this session, you’ll learn practical tips for getting started with outcome-based evaluation. You will gain a deeper understanding of what outcomes are and how to measure them. You will also develop a greater appreciation for WHY outcome measurement benefits libraries, through examples illustrating how evaluation results can be used for program improvement and demonstrating the impact of your library.

Guest presenter Linda Hofschire’s qualifications include more than 25 years working in social science research and evaluation; extensive project management, training, and teaching experience; and doctoral-level coursework in research methods and statistics. As a consultant she specializes in  various library-based evaluation and training projects including directing the Research Institute for Public Libraries (RIPL), the most prominent training initiative nationally that provides in-person and virtual training on public library data collection and evaluation. She also serves as the training coordinator for Infopeople.

The intended audience for this is library leadership and trustees.
