Eclipse Planning Round Table Online

Join library staff from across the state to share ideas and resources related to programming around the total eclipse that will happen on Monday, April 8, 2024. You will hear from library staff who are planning events at their libraries or supporting larger community events in towns and cities. We will also be joined by the following guests who will provide information about the eclipse for the first 30 minutes:

  • Max Kennedy, Planning Section Chief with the Department of Public Safety, will present a brief overview of the path and timing of the total eclipse in Vermont, tourist, and travel information, as well as guidance and resources from the State of Vermont. You can review guidelines and resources on the new State of Vermont Eclipse page.
  • STAR Net staff will discuss the science of the total eclipse and discuss safe viewing practices.
  • Heather Duhamel, Manager of Education Engagement with Vermont Public, will share information about live radio and TV coverage of the eclipse from the Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium, which will include But Why host and executive producer Jane Lindholm and astronomy expert Mark Breen.

You can find a list of resources for libraries and their communities on the Department of Libraries Eclipse page.
